In the framework of the SpaceSUITE Project, UPC participated in the 2024 GRSS International School on SAR Polarimetry.

The 2024 GRSS International School on SAR Polarimetry: From Theory to Applications, held from December 10th to 12th, 2024, at the University of Stirling, Scotland, was a significant success.

The event, organized by the IEEE GRSS UK and Ireland Chapter, in collaboration with the ERASMUS+ Blueprint project SpaceSUITE, brought together 50 participants from across Europe and Africa, offering a comprehensive blend of theoretical lectures and hands-on practical applications in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Polarimetry.

The school aimed to equip participants with a thorough understanding of SAR Polarimetry (PolSAR), covering fundamental concepts and cutting-edge applications across various fields such as agriculture, environmental monitoring, forestry, and disaster management.

With the increasing availability of PolSAR data from dedicated satellite missions such as SAOCOM (CONAE), RCM (CSA & MDA), ALOS-2 (JAXA), and upcoming missions like BIOMASS (ESA) and NISAR (NASA & ISRO), the importance of understanding and use PolSAR techniques is more relevant than ever.
