Under the auspices of the Large-scale Skills partnership SPACE4GEO, and supported by the SpaceSuite project, several actions have been taken to ensure the governance of the Body of Knowledge (BoK) and its usage.

A BoK Working Group has been established within SPACE4GEO to handle branding, license management, community building and identification of funding opportunities. Hereby, a currently ongoing task is the rebranding of the BoK. Since the BoK got its new name (GeoSpace BoK) earlier in 2025, its web domain has now also changed accordingly into https://geospacebok.eu/, where users continue to be able to explore and use the BoK.

Permalinks to the BoK concepts have been redirected to this new domain, ensuring backwards compatibility (also for previous versions of the BoK). Furthermore, a license statement has been placed on the website as: The GeoSpace Body of Knowledge content is licensed by the SPACE4GEO Alliance under CC BY-SA 4.0. Copyright by the authors.

Finally, the Association of Geographic Information Laboratories in Europe (AGILE) is now strongly supporting and using the GeoSpace BoK, as first step towards creating BoK Hub, which promotes the use of the BoK and highlights use cases.

A new version of the BoK has been released in December 2025.
